Phosphate recovery

The medium-term aim of sewage sludge treatment should be to return the phosphorus to the nutrient cycle. It is also stipulated in the current German sewage sludge regulation. The different approaches range from phosphate precipitation from wastewater or liquid sludge to the recovery of phosphate from the ash. Most of the processes are still in the development stage.
